    Mobility Solutions offers Adaptive Driving Evaluations for individuals who are unable to drive a car with standard operating equipment. We offer a comprehensive clinical and on-road evaluation. Our licensed occupational therapist is certified by the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists to assess your ability to drive. Whether it is adapting to a disability or re-evaluating an older individuals driving skills, we're here to help.

    At Mobility Solutions, you will be working one on one with our licensed occupational therapist. While here you will start with a clinical screening. Our therapist will test your vision with our Opteck machine, and she will then check your perceptual skills, motor skills, strength, coordination, cognitive skills, and driving context (where, when and why you are driving). Our vehicle simulator will test your reaction time, and after thorough assessment, the remaining part of the evaluation will be on-road beside our therapist. She will be able to assess your driving ability and recommend the necessary adjustments to your driving style.

 

    Modifications that may be made to the car following an evaluation include:

 

  

  • Left foot accelerators

  • Hand controls for gas/brake

  • Mirror placements

  • Cross over turn signals

  • Wheelchair & Scooter loading/storage

  

    Who may need modifications to a car? Modifications may assist individuals with certain disabilities such as:

 

  • Spinal Cord Injuries

  • Stroke or CVA

  • Amputations

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Closed head injury

  • Diabetes

  • Dwarfism

  • Fibromylagia

  • Neurological Diseases

  • Spina Bifida

 

  

 

    Evaluations are for the older population of drivers that might have age related difficulties such as:

 

  • Cataracts

  • Glaucoma

  • Alzheimer's Disease

  • Arthritis
