As of Jan. 31, 2008, Positive Results Therapies, a service of Bona Vista Programs, will no longer provide therapy services to adults at the Hoffer Street location.  However, it will continue its focus on services to children through Positive Results in Kokomo with the expansion of children's therapy services to the Hoffer Street location, including providing additional developmental therapy services to children with Autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays.

"After evaluating our rehabilitation programs and our vision for pediatric services in Kokomo, we decided it would be in the best interest of our patients and Positive Results Therapies to find a new provider to serve our adult therapy patients in Kokomo.  As a result, we chose St. Joseph Hospital because of the continuous support they have given to our agency, our missions and the persons we both serve,” said Jill Dunn, president, Bona Vista Programs.  “We are very excited to concentrate our focus in Kokomo on serving the children in this community.  The expansion of our pediatric services into Hoffer Street will allow us to focus more on the full range of therapy services for children, including a more specialized approach to children and families dealing with Autism.” 

Positive Results Therapies will continue to treat adults in the areas of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies at its Miami County location located at 170 Miami Medical Plaza, 315 Old Key Drive in Peru.  Positive Results Therapies also treats children in Miami County at 105 S. Benton Street in Peru.

            St. Joseph Hospital opened its newest St. Joseph Physical and Sports Therapy location on July 23, 2007 in the Forest Park Plaza and has another location on Southway Boulevard.  These two convenient locations will serve the rehabilitation needs of patients in Positive Results Therapies’ adult therapy programs.

“Positive Results Therapies had come to us with the idea of our outpatient therapy services taking on its adult therapy patients, which would allow it to provide a greater concentration on pediatric therapy services for our community,” said Darcy Burthay, RN, MSN, president, St. Joseph Hospital.  “After evaluating its mission and programs we felt we had a good fit and this would enhance the therapy services not only for adults, but children in Kokomo and the surrounding counties.”
