The 2008 Street Strut

Thank you to all who participated!

Go, GO, GO!!!     Bona Vista Programs has partnered with RACI to challenge local businesswomen and girls, ages 14-18, to lace up their tennis shoes, put on their fundraising hats and “strut their stuff” to raise money for children's therapies served by Bona Vista Programs and Positive Results Therapies for Kids at 12 noon on June 11 on the north side of the courthouse square in Kokomo. Each team member was asked to raise money for their participation in the race. Money raised will be used toward programs

that benefit children with disabilities. Street Strut is a relay  race with four women

per team. At the starting horn all participants, clad in regular business attire, took off their shoes and place them in Merle Norman bags, lace up their tennis shoes and began to race at a pace of no more than a strut. We encouraged teams to bring their own cheerleaders (male, of course!). We had 23 teams participate this year.

A prize was awarded to the individual who raised the most money for participating in the event. The first place team was the Kokomo  High School Cheerleaders, second place went to the Energizer Buddies, and third place was Woody's Food Store's team . The best in event cheerleaders went to the male students of Kokomo High School. Some of the fun prize packages included jewelry from Strickler Jewelry, Mary Kay cosmetics, gift certificates, and more!  A big thanks to Z92.5, Subway Haynes International and RACI our Major sponsors.
